CARRIER DOME, SYRACUSE -- Syracuse University football fans will have the opportunity to purchase individual game tickets and family packs beginning Wednesday, June 25. All tickets are available online (suathletics.com) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (888-DOMETIX).
The 2008 home schedule includes the return of longtime rival Penn State (Sept. 13) in a stretch of four consecutive home games in September. The Orange will also host Akron (September 6), Northeastern (September 20) and Pittsburgh (September 27) during the first month of the season. In November, Syracuse will host Louisville (November 1) and Connecticut (November 15).
Season ticket packages begin at $100 in Touchdown Town. Adult season tickets are $205, youth/student season tickets are $115 and faculty/staff season tickets are $164. A 2008 Penn State Pack, which includes tickets for SU’s games against Penn State (Sept. 13) and Pittsburgh (Sept. 27) or Penn State and Connecticut (Nov. 15), is also available. The cost of the two-game package is $85 for adults and $40 for youth. Individual game tickets for Akron, Northeastern, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Connecticut are $36 for adults and $18 for youth (ages 12 and under). Individual game tickets for Penn State are $57 for adults and $30 for youth.
During the home-opener against Akron (Sept. 6), the University will celebrate Patriotic Day, featuring a special ticket price ($22 for adults/$13 for youth) for military and emergency service workers. Prior to the game Stroke will perform a concert on the Quad and the 2008 Orange National Championship lacrosse squad will be recognized at halftime.
The Orange will play Penn State, the most familiar opponent in school history, on September 13. It will be SU’s first game against the Nittany Lions since 1990. The Orange has played Penn State 68 times since the series began in 1922 and has won two of the last four games of the series, including a 48-21 victory in the Carrier Dome in 1987 and a 24-10 victory in Beaver Stadium in 1988. The Nittany Lions have a 41-22-5 advantage in the all-time series.
The University will host Homecoming Weekend on September 20 when the Orange hosts Northeastern (Sept. 20). It will also be Youth and Senior Citizen Day, featuring $13 tickets for youth 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older.
Syracuse’s BIG EAST conference opener against Pittsburgh (Sept. 27) will feature the return of 2008 Professional Football Hall of Fame inductee Art Monk, who will be honored during Courage Day. Prior to the game TK99 will host Almostfest in the Quad.
Former Orange All-American quarterback Don McPherson will highlight the Legends Day festivities celebrating his 2008 induction into the College Football Hall of Fame when Louisville visits the Dome (Nov. 1). In addition, a special tribute will be held for Celebrate New York Day during the University’s Family Weekend. During the game, TK99 will host its $99,000 Field Goal Challenge.
The home finale against Connecticut (Nov. 15) will recognize those who support the Orange during Fan Appreciation Day.
The Orange begins the 2008 season at Northwestern on August 30.
