Katie Corrado joined the CNY Central news team in 2012 as a multimedia journalist.
Katie graduated cum laude from Fordham University in 2012 with a degree in communication and media studies. While at Fordham, Katie anchored the Fordham Nightly News and served as the station's student production manager. During college, Katie interviewed several notable individuals, including Katie Couric, Dan Rather, Matthew Broderick, Karl Rove and Alex Trebek. She also covered the 10th anniversary of September 11th and the Occupy Wall Street protests.
Her work has been recognized by the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association. She was awarded Best College TV News Story in 2012 for her coverage of the birth control controversy in the Catholic Church and College TV Special Mention in 2011 for her profile of a Bronx tutoring center.
Katie has completed internships with several news outlets in New York City, including the Investigative Unit at WABC-TV, CBS Newspath and FOX5 (WNYW), where she wrote for the station's public affairs show, 'Good Day Street Talk.' An active member of New York Women in Communications, Katie is a three-time recipient of the organization's foundation scholarships.
Katie has wanted to be a journalist since the sixth grade, when her dream job was to become a sports broadcaster. Her interests and goals have evolved since then, but her passion for the industry remains the same.
A proud Jersey Girl, Katie grew up in Cedar Grove, a suburb of New York City.
