WSTM/WSTQ Sports Director John Evenson began his Broadcasting career at Global Television in Toronto, Canada in 1998. Before coming to Syracuse John was the primary sports anchor/reporter for CITY TV in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As you might imagine John loves hockey, but you would be hard pressed to find a sport he will not salivate over. He has interviewed a vast array of sports figures over the years, but is most proud of his one-on-one interviews with Wayne Gretzky, Vince Carter and Jose Canseco.

Besides his fondness for sports, John loves a good read. He is an English major, having earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree at York University in Toronto. He also has an honors degree in Broadcast Journalism.
