Niko Tamurian joined the CNY Central team in April of 2007 as a sports reporter. An East Syracuse-Minoa High School graduate, Niko knows the CNY sports scene inside and out. He earned an Associate's Degree from the EMC program at Onondaga Community College and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Buffalo State. Most recently, Niko worked as a sports producer and videographer at WSYR-TV. He is now a part of the WSTM/WTVH/WSTQ family. A New Yorker at heart, Niko is a die-hard SU sports fan, and he roots for the Bills, the Yankees, and the Sabres.
In is free time, he heads to the gym, spends time with family and friends, and enjoys watching his teams. As a sports reporter Niko offers stories from a broad spectrum of local sports.

• Why I'm a Journalist: Growing up as a Syracuse sports fan it was always my dream to be able to present comprehensive and extensive coverage of all the teams I grew up rooting for. It’s an honor to be able to tell the stories that compel you, as well as the stories of those athletes that sometimes get overlooked but are so special to our area.
