Matt Mulcahy anchors Action News 3 at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 11:00 pm, and the CW6 News at 10:00 pm.

The Emmy award-winning journalist joined the Action News team in February of 2005. He has been covering Central New York news for almost 20 years, most recently at WTVH and WSYT.

This is a homecoming of sorts for Matt. One of his first jobs in broacasting was right here at NBC3. Matt was a reporter, weekend anchor, and then eventually co-anchor of Action News 3 live at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm with Jackie Robinson before leaving in 1997.

Matt has received numerous awards including an Emmy for his reporting on the conflict in Bosnia. He also received an Edward R. Murrow Award for best writing for his "Matt's Memo" weblog. The Associated Press, the New York State Broadcasters Association, and the Syracuse Press Club have all honored Matt with numerous awards.
