Matt Stevens is the broadcast meteorologist on the weekend edition of Today in Central New York as well as on the night and evening news on Mondays and Tuesdays. Matt joined CNY Central in 2008 from WETM in Elmira, N.Y., where he worked as a meteorologist and photographer.

Outside of CNY Central, Matt works as a meteorologist for Precision Weather Service. In 2008, Matt earned his American Meteorologist Society Seal of Approval. His ideal weather event is a lake-effect snow storm followed by three days of sunshine – perfect for skiing and snowboarding.

Matt grew up in Jamestown, N.Y. and earned his bachelor’s degree in meteorology and mathematics from SUNY Oswego. A true outdoorsman, Matt enjoys road cycling, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking and golfing. Matt and his meteorologist wife, Vanessa, have 2 cats and 1 dog.
