ALBANY (AP) -- State Health Commissioner Richard Daines is on a 15-county tour across the state to promote local health programs as part of National Public Health Week.
Today, he'll be in Chenango, Cortland and Cayuga counties. On tap are visits to Norwich High School's health center, which provides medical and dental services to students, and Norwich's community gardens.
In Cortland, he'll present an H1N1 response award to the county health director. In Auburn, he'll present an H1N1 response award to the Cayuga County health director and then head to a local dairy farm to see a state-of-the-art manure digester.
He began the tour Monday with a visit to a school-based farm in Troy.
