Geltees: the first eco-friendly, biodegradable golf tee made of a hundred percent animal gelatin. You can play golf and save the environment while you're doing it,
The product is a venture of Capsuline, a company known around the world for manufacturing gelatin capsules. They have recycled the extra gelatin from the production of their capsules to create this new innovative tee line.
Jonathan Gilinski, Capsuline President & CEO said "there is an enormous amount of trees that are knocked down annually to produce and fulfill the demand of these golf tees, and we wanted to somehow alleviate that." Geltees are biodegradable, and will decompose just a few days after coming into contact with the sun, water and even the moisture from the ground. The tees will disappear off the golf course. Grand Palms superintendent Tom Loffey says regular golf tees are bad for his grass mowers. They can ruin the bad knives and the real mowers.
Geltees will be available in two different sizes and will come in a variety of colors. They can be found in sport retailers and select golf courses this fall.
