GREAT LAKES -- The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers is looking into ways to stop Asian Carp from migrating between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watersheds.
Engineers say it could take years before anything substantial is put into place.
The primary focus of the study will be on the Chicago-area waterways, where canals provide the only direct connection between the two basins.
Biologists fear, if Asian Carp get into the lakes, they could destroy the fishing industry by outcompeting other fish for food.
