SYRACUSE -- The City of Syracuse has announced that they are looking for a Christmas tree that will be displayed in Clinton Square during the upcoming holiday season.

The tree will be featured as the main attraction in the City's "Holiday Magic in the Square Celebration" tree lighting event, which will take place on Friday, November 27 at Clinton Square, starting at 7:00 p.m.

The city says that the tree must be a Norway spruce and be approximately 65 feet tall.  In order to facilitate removal of the tree, it must be located away from power lines and located near a main access road (i.e. not in the back yard).

If you have a tree that you would like to submit for consideration, you are asked to contact Mary Beth Roach at the City of Syracuse Department of Parks Recreation and Youth Programs. The phone number is 473-4330, ext. 3006.

Programming note: A representative from City Hall will sit down with us on Action News Live at Noon on Friday to discuss the search for a tree as well as other plans the city has for the upcoming holiday season.
