4. Do an inspection. If you're not mechanically inclined yourself, bring a mechanic with you to look at the truck you're considering.
5. Take it for a test drive. Unless you're buying online, and can afford to deal with a seller who is less than forthright about the condition of the truck, take the vehicle for a test drive.
