Sedation Dentistry
Are you afraid of going to the Dentist? Why not sedation for dentistry? At our office we understand this. You'll never have to be afraid to go to the dentist again.

When you are sedated, you will be in a deeply relaxed state and unaware of the treatment being rendered. You will be able to safely respond to us if encouraged, but you will have virtually no memory of your visit. You will never be left unattended by our highly trained staff.

Imagine having years of needed dental care done in just one or two visits. Sedation dentistry is perfect for people with very busy schedules and those who just choose not to deal with the stress and fatigue of long procedures.

How does Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry work?

  • You take a small pill one hour prior to your dental appointment. There are no intravenous tubes or needles - simply a pill provided by  our office to you in advance. A companion must accompany you to the office and also escort you home after your appointment. By the time you arrive, you will be very drowsy.
  • You relax through your dental appointment. When you arrive in our office, you will be escorted into the comfort room, covered with a thick, warm blanket and placed on a monitor to watch your vital signs. After you are comfortable, the doctors and the experienced clinical team at our office will take care of your dental needs.
  • You will feel no pain during your treatment. You will be in a deeply relaxed state, but you will be responsive. Our office staff is always with you and your vital signs are monitored during the entire visit. You are never alone.
  • When your treatment is completed, your companion will return you home to finish your comfortable, relaxing day. You will relax for up to five or six hours after taking the pill. The time you are relaxing will vary depending on your needed treatment. Due to the sedative effects of the medication, you will need someone to drive you to our office and home again.
  • You will have little or no memory of the experience. You probably won't even remember any sounds or smells.

Who is a candidate for Oral Conscious Sedation?

Let's face it. The mouth is probably our body's ultimate private space. Our mouth is were we eat, breathe, talk, smile, kiss... well you get it! Many normal people like you don't like dentists doing things in there. At our office you have our most humble respect and understanding.

If you have ever had a traumatic dental experience, you're probably never going to be very relaxed in the dental office. You're only human. For some it's the sounds, smells or tastes associated with the visit. For others it may be the sensitivity, gag reflex, difficulty getting numb or fear of shots. But for us at Dr. Brent A. Bradford the thing that breaks our heart more than those mentioned is when a patient has been made to feel ashamed or embarrassed. At our office you are welcomed. You are a candidate for sedation dentistry.
