Theresa Setter, APRN-BC Theresa began her nursing career at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia where she worked as an operating room nurse in cardiothoracic and transplant surgery. In 2006, Theresa began her career in Dermatology and both general and cosmetic dermatology have been her passion ever since. Theresa is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a certified provider of Botox Cosmetic, dermal fillers as well as laser aesthetics and Coolsculpting®. With over six years of clinical experience in dermatology, and treating patients with various skin disorders and skin cancer, and providing cosmetic services, you will certainly benefit from her knowledge and expertise. Kevin Setter, MD Kevin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cornell University in 1994. He then graduated with high honors, AOA, from SUNY Syracuse medical school in 1998. After completing a year of general surgical residency and a four year orthopedic residency in the Department of Orthopedics, University Hospital, in Syracuse NY, he completed a Sports Medicine and Shoulder Fellowship at the prestigious orthopedic department at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He then completed a Hand and Microvascular Fellowship here in Syracuse. He has served as an assistant team physician for the New York Jets (NFL), the Syracuse Chiefs and numerous local high school teams. Kevin is also certified in treatment with Botox, dermal fillers, as well as laser aesthetics and Coolsculpting®. Gianine Gesler, Aesthetician Gianine Gesler is a New York State Licensed Aesthetician with over nine years of profesional experience. She has received advanced aesthetic training and has worked in the spa industry as well as medical aesthetics. She has extensive knowledge, certification and practical experience in Medical Camouflage techniques, Mineral Makeup application, Microdermabrasion and Hydrafacial. In addition, Gianine is certified in laser hair removal and chemical peels.
Question What is CoolSculpting? Can you tell me more about it? Answer CoolSculpting is a breakthrough, non-invasive procedure that uses cooling technology to noticeably eliminate fat without surgery. During your consultation, we will determine if you are a good candidate and work with you to determine the best treatment plan for you. During a treatment, the device is placed over the treatment area and your bulge will be drawn between two cooling panels. Each treatment site lasts for about one hour. Most patients return to normal activity the same day. You may start to see a change as quickly as three weeks and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. Your body will continue to flush out your fat cells for up to six months after treatment. Question How many treatments of laser hair removal will I need to see clearance in an area and is laser hair removal permanent? Answer On average, it takes four to six treatments. However, some may require more. Laser hair removal with our GentleMax by Candella has been cleared by the FDA to claim permanence. Question How does BOTOX Cosmetic work? Answer BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows and on the forehead. Answer Juvederm is the only Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler that is FDA approved to last up to one year. Juvederm XC Injectable gel is a smooth consistency gel dermal filler that helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds like your "smile lines" or parentheses." Question What is Latisse and how does it work? Answer Latisse is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (having inadequate or not enough eye lashes) used to grow eye lashes- making them longer, thicker, and darker. Latisse is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle by increasing the duration of the growth phase as well as increasing the number of hairs in the growth phase. Question What skin care line do you offer? Answer We carry our own product called Revitalize! CNY, which offers an excellent selection of anti-aging and acne products for all skin types.
