FORT DRUM, NY (AP) -- A military contractor plans to cut about 150 jobs at New York's Fort Drum.

Officials with Falls Church, Va.-based DynCorp International and Local Lodge 2920 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers tell local media outlets that the company recently notified employees that the jobs at the northern New York post will be cut.

DynCorp employs 220 workers at Fort Drum, where they fix Black Hawk helicopters after they return from deployment overseas.

Company and union officials say the job cuts, expected to start this spring, are a result of concerns over automatic spending cuts pending in Washington.
