We're all talking about flu shots, but there are others you need to keep healthy, too

Flu shots may be all the talk, but there are several others that you need to stay protected, and most are not needed every year.

A short list, for adults, includes pneumonia (if over 60), tetanus (every 10 years), shingles, and whooping cough.

And another issue is keeping track of what you get and when.  Dr. Rich O'Neill, medical researcher and psychologist at SUNY Upstate, says your doctor should have records, but if you move or change physicians, the list may get lost.  You should keep it yourself (one suggestion: put it on your 'medications taken' list.

There's a website, www.cdc.gov that has a list and ways to keep track.  Search 'vaccine schedules.'
