WEEDSPORT -- There are more complications today for baby Easton Friedel, the infant with the rare skin disease EB. His family said, via their Facebook page, that Easton had a positive staph test.

Doctors think he may have contracted it from his skin and are ordering more tests. This means at least one more day in the hospital for the “butterfly baby.”

All this just 24 hours after the baby was admitted with swelling of his fontanelle, or soft spot on his head, and atrophy on the front part of his brain.

A benefit for baby Easton is being held today from 12pm to 5pm at The Ancient Order of Hibernians in Auburn.

If you want to have a hot dog and support the Friedel family, the event is at 79 Van Anden Street in Auburn.
