TOWN OF CLAY -- A woman who once owned a dog as a puppy broke in and stole her from a townhouse in Clay last week, according to State Police.

Now investigators are asking for your help in finding 'Bella', a three-year-old black Labrador/Shepard mix.

Investigators say 18-year-old Brittany K. Euson of Syracuse broke into a home off of Gaskin Road in Clay on June 7 and took the dog. Police say Euson knew where the dog lived and the animal is the only thing she stole from the home. Bella's owner, Dan Stachurski told CNY Central's Michael Benny, "I never expected this would get news attention, I hope it means I will get her (Bella) back."

Although troopers arrested Euson for burglary, Bella was not recovered. Police believe the person who has the dog may not be aware she was stolen. Investigators point out that if the dog is returned, no charges will be filed against that person.

Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact State Police in Lysander at 638-8200.
