SCHUYLER, HERKIMER CO. (AP) -- Authorities say the death of 65-year-old woman in a collision with a parolee fleeing from police in the Mohawk Valley has led to criminal charges against the man.

State police say Monday that 24-year-old Daniel Conklin of Rochester has been indicted on felony manslaughter and assault counts along with other charges.

Trooper said Conklin crashed May 24 in the Herkimer County town of Schuyler while fleeing a village police officer trying to pull him over.

The wreck killed Gail Pietruska of Frankfort.

Conklin was arraigned and is being held without bail. A message left for his lawyer wasn't initially returned Monday afternoon.
