A DeWitt attorney will leave the country after pleading guilty to bribing a witness in a murder case in Onondaga County Court Wednesday morning.

52-year-old Ezequiel Neuman admitted to offering a $50,000 bribe to a witness in exchange for not cooperating with prosecutors in a murder case.

Neuman had been facing charges that carried a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.

Neuman received a sentence of three years conditional discharge. A plea bargain requires him to give up his law license and testify against several co-defendants, including the person accused of organizing an August 2010 shooting outside a Syracuse gas station that left Louis Quinones dead and another man injured.

In August, Neuman was indicted on charges he offered a bribe to an inmate in jail and tried to keep witnesses from testifying in the murder case against Emilier Carrasquillo-Fuente.

He and his attorney refuse to divulged what country he is originally from.
