Underage Drinking Initiative nets three arrests from area businesses

ONONDAGA COUNTY -- 31 local bars and restaurants were checked under the New York State Police Underage Drinking Initiative over the weekend, leading to 3 arrests for serving alcohol to minors.

Troopers arrested and charged:

20-year-old Jesse J. Boland, cashier at the Sunshine Mini Mart at 500 7th North Street, Liverpool, 27-year-old Elizabeth A. Green, bartender at the Cobblestone Ale House at 400 First Street in Liverpool, and 22-year-old Jonathan M. Vanderberg, cashier at the Hess Express at 711 South Main Street, North Syracuse.

All three were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibitive sale of alcohol to a person under 21-years-old.

The businesses found in violation were referred to the New York State Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
