begins with your initial call, which is when we go to work. Normally, customers call us after the dust of the accident settles. Hopefully, no one is injured, as that should always be the first concern.
In instances where the vehicle is NOT drivable, you need to know under most insurance claims 2 tows are allowed. One to safely store the vehicle overnight or until you decide your next move. Then, a second tow to the shop of your choice. Most insurance policies require you to protect your vehicle from further damage after an accident. A tow to a secure lot is actually your responsibility and insurance will pay for it.
If you are able to request it at the scene, call our towing service directly @ 478-7770. Understand at an accident scene, the Police have authority to clear the scene. Respect it! We can always get the vehicle the next day.
We will pay all previous towing and storage charges that may have accrued. These service charges are itemized on the repair estimate and included in the insurance claim cost the insurance company is responsible for. We reserve the right to add a handling fee for this service.
With Satellite Detection Systems, such as GM’s OnStar® and some insurance programs, quite often a vehicle will be towed to the closest dealer or participating Program Provider. Do not sign anything until you have decided who you will choose to repair your vehicle best. Don’t get caught up in deals. Saving money may look right but cost you later in headaches and aggravation. At Nick Orso’s all repairs are completed in house to control quality.
If the car is safely drivable, an appointment will be arranged so that we may inspect the vehicle and supply you with a written evaluation of the visible damage.
Upon arrival at our facility we initiate the process by collecting information pertinent to the repair process, i.e. vehicle owner name, address, phone numbers, email, etc. It is often the case that customers decide to leave the vehicle for repair or arrange a mutually convenient appointment. Substitute transportation will be arranged if you require it.
Once your vehicle has arrived at our facility, protective measures are taken to avoid further damage to the vehicle and its contents. In cases where fluid or chemical leakage has or is occurring, measures will be taken to limit damage to our property or the environment. Should the contents of the vehicle need to be extracted, service will be provided if authorized.
When the vehicle is left at the repair shop or towing has been arranged, you will be asked to authorize your repair intentions. We assume nothing unless you specifically instruct us, as no work can be performed without authorization. We both need to be clear about goals, set expectations, and discuss mutual and individual obligations.
