SYRACUSE (AP) -- A prominent upstate New York museum is celebrating a two-year fundraising and renovation campaign by hosting a major exhibit from the National Museum of Wales.
"Turner to Cezanne" will be on exhibit at the Everson Museum of Art from Friday through Jan. 3.
The museum - designed by acclaimed architect I.M. Pei - is one of only five stops for the exhibit, which features 53 works. It includes paintings by J.M.W. Turner, Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh and Pissarro and represents the first exhibit in the United States from the so-called Davies Collection.
The museum spent $800,000 on upgrades to host the exhibit, which was previously seen in Columbia, S.C., and Oklahoma City. Its final stops are the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Albuquerque Museum.
