Fatal fire claims the life of one woman.

SYRACUSE -- A fatal fire took the life of one woman at 113 Sabine Street in Syracuse on Sunday night.

Lt. John Cussen of the Syracuse Fire Department identified the victim as 71-year-old Santa Claudio. A cause of death has not yet been released.

Syracuse Fire Chief McLees says the fire started on the first floor of the three story building around 10:00 p.m on Sunday, February 24.

All other residents in the five apartment building made it out safely. The Red Cross is working closely with these families to see that they are all receiving proper care.
