Bob Burns is a friendly face around St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse where he volunteers a few days a week. Burns has always been active and energetic, but when he was 52, his doctor sent him to a cardiologist and he was diagnosed with aortic stenosis – a condition where the aortic valve does not fully open.

Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse starts using a new $2.2 million remotely controlled computerized heart catheterization system this week. Upstate is now one of three hospitals in New York, outside of New York City, to use the Stereotaxis Remote Magnetic Navigation System.
