SYRACUSE -- Crouse Hospital is reporting that it has laid off 25 people on Wednesday.
The layoffs consisted of 20 management positions and 5 non-management.
The hospital called it a “pro-active measure” as it prepares for cuts in federal reimbursements for care, and rising healthcare costs.
The hospital says the layoffs will keep Crouse in a strong position in the future.
Bob Allen, spokesperson for the hospital, said; “This was a sad day because these people will not be here any longer, but the reductions do put Crouse in a positive financial path for the future.”
