Oneida Healthcare's Pink Glove Dance
ONEIDA -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and one organization in Oneida has found a fun way to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
About 200 employees at Oneida Healthcare put on pink gloves and danced their hearts out to make this video.
Physicians, nurses, radiology technologists, many other OHC staff members, and several departments within the OHC Circle of Care are showcased. Even the extended care residents' cat and the DaVinci robot make a cameo appearance.
OHC is one of almost 270 organizations to submit its version of the dance into a national competition, The Medline Pink Glove Dance.
The winner gets to chose a breast cancer charity of their choice to be awarded $10,000.
Oneida Healthcare chose the Carol M. Baldwin Research Fund, which supports new and established researchers investigating breast cancer causes, prevention and treatments.
The runner up will get to award $5,000 to their desired charity, while the third place organization will get to award $2,000.
Voting began on October 12 and runs through November 2. Winners will be announced November 9.
Oneida Healthcare serves communities in Oneida and Madison counties.
