AUBURN (AP) -- The uncle of a central New York man charged in the fatal stabbing of an estranged girlfriend says his nephew admitted to killing the woman because she was allowing drug dealers to be around their child.
Tim Blaisdell testified this week in Cayuga County Court that Ryan Brahney showed up at his apartment in Auburn early on the morning of Nov. 21, 2011 and said he had killed Bridget Bell, the mother of Brahney's young son. The Citizen of Auburn reports Blaisdell also testified that Brahney's clothing was stained with what appeared to be blood.
Police say when they arrived at Bell's Auburn apartment they found her body with a butcher knife stuck in her chest and blood splattered around the room. Her 3-year-old son slept nearby.
