CANANDAIGUA -- A Geneva woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after her children were found to have been left alone in a car.

Police responded to the Canandaigua Wal-Mart around 10 p.m. Friday after they were alerted that two children, ages 7 and 2, were left unattended in 27-year-old Patricia M. Smith’s car.

The 7-year-old had exited the vehicle and was found wandering around. Police say Smith returned to her car about 40 minutes later.

Smith was ticketed and is scheduled to appear in Hopewell Town Court on December 11.
