SYRACUSE -- Heavy lake snow over Oswego County will shift south towards Syracuse on Monday morning. The morning commute for many may be affected for some.

There are lake effect snow warnings for Syracuse and all of Central New York.
Meteorologist Peter Hall says that areas near or north of Syracuse and the Thruway will get 3 to 6 inches. There could be additional 1 to 3 inches later in the evening.
Areas to the south and east of Syracuse will get 1 to 3 inches by 5 p.m. From Oswego west to Rochester could get 6 to 12 inches of new snow by 5 p.m.
Today’s high in the Syracuse area is 23 degrees with a low of 8.
