ORCHARD PARK (AP) -- A New Jersey man has been charged with grand larceny after New York State Police say he scammed an elderly Hudson Valley woman out of more than $30,000.
State police say Rasheem Eccleston of East Orange, N.J., fraudulently received $33,000 from a Kingston woman as part of a lottery scam committed in September.
Eccleston was arrested last week and sent to Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail. He's scheduled to appear in Kingston City Court on Tuesday.
It couldn't be determined if he had a lawyer.
