SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse tradition continues tonight with the annual lighting of the Christmas tree in Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse.
Parking at city meters is free after 5:00 PM. There is also free parking in the Washington Street garage from 4:00 PM on Friday, November 23rd until 2:00 AM on Saturday, November 24th.

The following streets will be closed at the noted times in order to accommodate the set-up, presentation and then breakdown of the event:
100 block of West Water Street will be closed on Friday, November 23 from 7 A.M. to 8:30 P.M.
Clinton Street, from Herald Place to Washington Street
Salina Street, from Willow Street to Washington Street
West Genesee Street, from North Franklin to Salina Streets
James Street, from Salina to Warren Streets
Erie Boulevard East, from Salina to Warren Streets
Erie Boulevard West, from Clinton Square to Franklin Streets
The 200 block of West Water Street from Franklin to Clinton
The 100 block of East Genesee Street
No parking will be allowed on the following streets from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, November 23:
North Salina Street, from Genesee to Willow Streets
North Clinton Street, from Genesee Street to Herald Place
Genesee Street, from Franklin to Clinton Street - south curbline only
Erie Blvd. West, from Clinton Square to Franklin Street
