You may have heard about Wild Carp Week, currently going on in Baldwinsville.
This is a huge event where fishermen come in from all over the world to fish for these huge carp in Onondaga Lake and the Seneca River. This is a big money event with tens of thousands of dollars on the line.

Where do I fit in? Well the organizers of Wild Carp Week also have a Celebrity Charity Challenge raising money for charity, and this Celebrity Challenge takes place this Saturday May 21st from Noon – 4:00pm. Local celebrities (so to speak) will be teamed up with six of the professional carp fishermen to form a total of six teams. The fishing goes on for 3 hours and the winner is the team who catches the heaviest fish. I am on one team and our own CNYcentral’s Jim Kenyon is on another team.

The best this about this is that $10,000 will be split up amongst the six teams with the winning celebrity getting a check for $3000, lesser amounts for places two through six. Although I don’t fish, I figured how can I go wrong for my Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation if I have guaranteed money after.

So, this is where I will be this Saturday afternoon.
