The look says "uh oh, here comes the snow!"

How will we know it is springtime if winter never comes? Lately I've noticed some confused buds blossoming on trees.  Lat fall grass seed germinating and peaking from the soil. We are on the verge of a record streak of no measurable snow on the ground of more than 280 days.

I drove into my neighborhood the other night wondering if the Christmas decorations would come down before they  have sparkled against freshly fallen snow.  It would be a winter lost if that should happen.   Life is easier without worrying about shoveling, snow blowing or windshield scraping.  Travel is safer without roads that are slushy, snowy or icy.

Christmas is less than a week away. It's time for snow to fall.  How else will we know when spring has sprung?
