The New York State Police conducted graduation exercises Tuesday for its 2012 Basic Canine Handler School. One of the k-9's is named "Mandin" after Trooper Amanda Anna who was killed killed in the line of duty in a motor vehicle crash on County Route 37 in Hastings.

The Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation held it's third annual Canine Carnival at Long Branch Park in Liverpool, NY Saturday August 4th, and despite temperatures in the 90s, it was record breaker with more than 8000 people attending and 50 animal rescues from as far away as New York City and New Jersey.
