Last year was an active hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin with 19 named storms, of which 12 became hurricanes. The United States coastlines lucked out with most of the storms and all of the hurricanes staying out to sea.

The 2010 tropical weather season begins in less than three weeks, on June 1, and we received a Press Release today from our national Climate Prediction Center that in a few days they will have their ‘early outlook” for the season.
