While thousands rallied for immigration reform in the nation's capitol on Wednesday, dozens pushed for action outside the Federal Building in Syracuse. The Central New York Committee on Immigration Reform wants lawmakers to pass an immigration reform package that includes a clear, direct path to citizenship, with an emphasis on family unification.

A vigil was held Tuesday afternoon in Syracuse to mark the 10th anniversary of Dr. Rafil Dhafir’s arrest. Dhafir was convicted of tax evasion, money laundering and violating US sanctions imposed on Iraq related to charity he set up to help needy children in Iraq.
