The superintendent in the Liverpool School District will undergo a heart transplant. Dr. Richard Johns issued an open letter to parents, students, teachers and staff members in the district Wednesday, saying he is working with a medical team at Strong Hospital to 'explore receiving a new heart.'

They are planning a candle light vigil for neighbor Matt McCabe. He recently had a heart transplant. Back in March, the school rallied behind Matt after the pills he needed to keep his heart problem under control went out of production.
