Three Syracuse markets were searched Thursday morning in connection with an investigation in to New York food stamp fraud and trafficking violations. Four individuals were arrested for falsifying business records and misuse of food stamps.

State Senator John DeFrancisco, R-Syracuse, has proposed legislation that would allow for Family Court Clerks to provide juvenile records to prosecutors when a defendant is charged with a sex offense. Currently, those records are automatically sealed.

The New York State Inspector General cleared the Onondaga County Crime Lab after serious allegations were made by the Syracuse Police Department in the fall of last year. The Inspector General found no evidence to support the allegations, but included criticism of the Syracuse Police Department. On Tuesday, Mayor Stephanie Miner tells CNY Central that she is standing by the Police Department.
