Parade organizers are quick to admit -- raising money for the Syracuse St. Patrick's Parade is tough work. In a down economy, it's becoming increasingly difficult to rely so heavily on corporate donations. Instead, organizers said they've turned to folks in the community.

People packed into Kitty Hoynes in downtown Syracuse Sunday afternoon for the final fundraising push. Complete with bagpipers and a live band, the crowd inside the bar did its part to make sure Salina Street is painted green next Saturday.

For the second straight year -- organizers of the annual St. Patrick's Parade in Syracuse say they're worried about funding. Parade President Janet Higgins says it costs $30,000 to put on the parade -- but at this point -- only about $2,500 has been secured.
