The clinic, put on by the Shamrock Animal Fund and CNY Animal Welfare Coalition, was scheduled to start at 1 pm Sunday afternoon. But long lines along Gifford Street around 11:30 am prompted volunteers to open the doors to St. Lucy's Church early.

First of it's kind Healthy Pet Clinic in Syracuse helped needy pet owners in one of the most challenged neighborhoods in the city. Central New York veterinarians and vets and students from Cornell University's acclaimed veterinary college volunteered their services.
