A sign was dedicated for Trooper Amanda Anna, who died in the line of duty last may after her SUV rolled over while trying to stop a traffic violator last May. Trooper Anna, 31, was from Liverpool and assigned to the Hastings barracks.

The New York State Police conducted graduation exercises Tuesday for its 2012 Basic Canine Handler School. One of the k-9's is named "Mandin" after Trooper Amanda Anna who was killed killed in the line of duty in a motor vehicle crash on County Route 37 in Hastings.

Update: State police say an investigation reveals Trooper Anna had been traveling west on County Route 37 then changed directions to travel east just before the crash in a possible attempt to stop a violator. They're asking anyone who may have been in the area to call police at 315-366-6000.
