FULTON, OSWEGO COUNTY -- A welfare fraud investigation led to the arrest of an Oswego County couple after receiving services of more than $28,000.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Office says 36-year-old James Pullen and his wife, 37-year-old Danielle Pullen, of County Road 4 in Fulton, are charged with felony welfare fraud and false instrument filing.

Deputies say the investigation began after allegations Pullen received services from the Oswego County Department of Social Services including Medicaid, food stamps, and Home Energy Assistance. He failed to disclose his income and unemployment benefits from July 2007 through October 2009.

James and Danielle Pullen were arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and are expected to be back in court on March 5.
