FULTON, OSWEGO COUNTY -- Fulton Police arrested 17-year-old male Robby J. Guppy Wednesday afternoon. He was charged for two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of third degree assault, and one count of second degree assault.

Police say Guppy punched and slapped his 18-month-old daughter when she would not stop crying. Officers say he also intentionally burned his daughter with a cigarette causing second degree burns on her left hand and earlobe.

Guppy was arraigned Wednesday night. He was sent to the Oswego County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

SHUT YOUR MOUTHS YOU NOT THERE HE DID NOT HURT HIS BABY

that poor little girl

Posted by anonymous anonymous, anonymous - Saturday, August 02, 2008 at 6:44 p.m.

this boy makes me sick to my stomach,he should have given that child up for adoption or have a family member adopt and take care of her, i cannot imagine the pain that poor child went through, and her father shows no remorse at all, this is sick, this man is sick, and the mother should have KNOWN not to leave him with her, just because she wanted to go HARBOR MESSING!!!, he should have called someone close to help him with his child, he is a little boy and he clearly isn't showing responsibility for his actions, he doesn't even give a damn about that poor child. and he says he has anger problems?, thats more than just anger problems, he could have KILLED her, he needs to be locked away for good before he kills someone. you know its so sad how people who would be absolutely great parents can't have children and would do anything to have their own, and theres people who are babies having babies, who have beautiful children, but they don't give a damn about them because they're too selfish and cannot handle the responsibilities that come with a child

Young = abusive

His age is no excuse for torturing his baby. He only had to get through a single weekend, and he was already punching her in the dead the same day she arrived! Having raised him, his parents must be aware he's too dangerous to be left alone with a child, so where were they during all this abuse? And his friends who saw this child and her bruises that he was hanging out with - could none of them intervene? I hope it's one of them that called in the abuse - otherwise they're guilty in this as well. F'ing scum.

Disgrace!

Never Hurt A Fly?

This man is a menance to his child and should be punished severly for his selfish and cowardly act. He is selfish because he put HIS interests abover the needs of his child by taking her to, in all likelihood, a stranger's home for the evening for video game fun. He is a coward because he BEAT and BURNED his OWN child!

Some of you are saying "I know Robby and he wouldn't...". Let me tell you, you don't know anyone until you see them under stress. Hitler was considered a great dinner party. Mao's calligraphy was avante garde and he was thought of as a decent poet. Both murdered millions. Ted Bundy was handsome, educated, and considered sociable...and he brutally killed dozens.

This man is a danger to society. If you are nice 99.99% of the time but "fly off the handle" and stab people .01% of the time, should you be allowed out into the public? I say NO! Let this man do serious time with people who will show him how abuse feels. Prison is for retribution AND punishment.

For all you supporters of this "demon father" read his own statement. "I shook her, hard, I was mad. She still would not stop crying.I took my cigarette and pushed the lit end against her hand. I told her to stop yelling. She would not stop. I then put her on her side, I put the lit cigarette behind her ear lobe. I held it against her face for a little bit. I kept yelling at her and slapping her. "I slapped her in the face with an open hand four, five or six times.HOW DO YOU DARE TREAT A CHILD THIS WAY???

Seriously...

Police just dont point their finger at the closest person available. OBVIOUSLY there is evidence to support the accusation! If this child was in proper care, this probably wouldnt have ever happened.

There has to be more to this case. I am in complete denial if he did do this. I know Guppy and he truly is a sweet person. When i saw this on the news i couldn't believe it at all. I definatly think that this should be looked into because there is just no way guppy would hurt anyone let alone a small child especially his own.

dang..

What does it matter if he has teeth or not? How is that even relevant?

Does anything think before they talk? I am a single mother of three. I had my children very young. I did not rely on "the system" or anyone else to help me support my children. I never beat them or harmed them in any way. I am not saying I am the perfect parent but I am a good one. There is no excuse for harming a child, except who ever does they are good for nothing.
My children respect adults. They are very well rounded.
Child abuse should be punished. Most child abusers go unpunished. It is horrible. I don't understand how anyone can hurt a child. They are sick. Regardless of their age. They do come in all ages.

robby guppy is inocent!!!

Kids having Kids, why in the world do people support or encourage kids of this age to have children. I understand people say kids are old enough to make their own decisions, but that little girl can't make her own decision or fight for herself and who's watching out for her and other kids, while these young kids are just having kids as a fashion statement or to trap a man??? I was a young single mother myself and now my daughter is 10 and it was not easy i agree but this is our next generation and they wonder why our country is going to Heck, it's the lack of parenting that my generation has adopted, i myself am an old school parent who beleives children should be respectful, helpful and most of all responsable for themselves and their actions, unfortunatley for the children of the future i am only a minority, I can't beleive the way parents allow their children to act and to treat them and other adults, it's unreal...??

Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This story just makes me sick to my stomach. Why wasn't this child given up for adoption and given a chance at having loving, caring parents instead of some spoiled snot who only knows how slap a baby around because it is annoying him! He should have thought about that before he had sex. There are always consequences when you have sex that young. Obviously these 2 kids were under 16 when they had the baby. What were they parents of these kids thinking, allowing them to keep the baby. Doesn't matter where they live. This happens all over!

father accused of hitting daughter

Posted by katie popowniak, east syracuse - Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

what is wrong with people these days and where was the babies mom? he deserves the worst punishment possible and that baby should be taken away from both of them cuz they are too young to be having children. there are people who would give their left arm for a child and they can't even have one. then there are these kids who pop out kids and don't care about them, it just makes me sick!!!!

WHAT???

Posted by j b, syracuse - Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 7:51 a.m.

I'm sorry why does this person have bail or bond? this is a defenseless child who does not know more than crying. why would ANYONE give this person the right to be on the streets again after scarring this child for life? Where is the justice system?

see..

Posted by Paula Printup, Oneida - Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 7:34 a.m.

this is exactly what happens when you have kids at too young an age. He is way to immature to be taking care of a baby, he is still a kid himself.People like this should not be allowed to be around kids. i hope he goes to jail. what a loser.

geesh
