With a new SU Football Coach, and hopes for winning seasons, we looked back at when a holiday bowl was understood to be part of the program.
The '88 season, 20 years ago, was capped by a trip to the Hall of Fame Game, in Tampa, in early January, 1989.
Syracuse won, 23-10 over LSU, 'avenging' the 16-16 tie with Auburn in the Sugar Bowl the year before.
Our Jackie Robinson was in New Orleans for the tied game,  then-anchor John Nicholson and sports team Roger Springfield and Steve Schnall covered the game and fans in Tampa---enjoy the happy memories!
