In the 1960s, we were trading in black & white tv sets for color. NBC adopted the peacock logo to highlight the visual experience (each 'feather' was another bright color), and some of the network's hit shows also pushed watching in color.
Wonderful World of Color was a Sunday night staple ("The world is a carousel of color"), followed by another hit, "Bonanza."
'Star Trek' was another late 60s entry, though it was not on NBC for long. We also saw snippets of 'Flipper', 'I Dream of Jeannie' 'I Spy,' 'The Golden Girls,' and many long-running shows, including 'Saturday Night Live,' 'Cosby,' 'Seinfeld,' and 'E-R' which has just ended its run.
