TheĀ 4th of July means fun, fireworks, and of course.... food!

TheĀ USDA has released food safety guidelines to make sure you enjoy a happy, yet safe, holiday.

Grilling is the most popular way to cook this time of year.

Experts say it's important to use a meat thermometer to make sure your food is cooked thoroughly.

Also, make sure all meat is thawed before cooking, but don't defrost it at room temperature.

And marinate food in the refrigerator, not on the counter.
