Looking for a win
SYRACUSE -- After losing to South Florida, a Big East door mat, many fans believe they now know SU's tournament chances. One fan said "I think they went south, with South Florida." When the Orange traveled to Florida, many didn't even watch the game because they underestimated the stumbling opponent. Now that the embarrassing loss is in the past, many are looking to the future. Georgetown comes to the Dome in two days, just one of four top 25 teams in the remaining schedule for the Orange. Fans are keeping their hopes low. "I see us at least getting one home game hopefully and Seton Hall, so two! That's pushing it." But the Orange faithful say no matter what the year end record, it's been a great ride. "It's disappointing, it's been an exciting season with a lot of close games. It's a good time to be a fan, but it's disappointing." The other top 25 teams SU faces on their remaining schedule include number 18 Notre Dame, number 24 Pitt and number 25 Marquette. If the Orange can squeak out even half of them and go deep in the Big East Tournament they still might get some love on selection Sunday.
