NPG contract deal: Good news for local workers in DeWitt today, the New Process Gear Plant has approved a contract deal between the company and the United Auto Workers Union. An official announcement at the plant is scheduled to be made at 8:00 am. Under the new contract, the plant will stay open however, about 2,500 workers will have to take pay cuts as well as cuts to their benefits. Workers still have the choice to leave New Process Gear and work for Chrysler.

Powerline project details: Detailed plans are scheduled to be released from the New York Regional Interconnect in regards to the high voltage power line project. The controversial plan will have details released about the price of the actual building project lines from Oneida to Orange County. So far, prices have increased more than $2 million dollars. If the plan is approved, power costs will rise for people in the Mohawk Valley region.
