SYRACUSE -- After a long day of more than a dozen testimonies in the murder trial for 22-year-old Lateisha Green, a transgender woman that was shot and killed in November, emotions ran high and a fight broke out in front of the Onondaga County Courthouse.

A witness told Action News that a van carrying a witness and the grandmother of defendant Dwight DeLee pulled up, and that's when the altercation broke out between both sides.

Roxanne Green, the victim's mother, told said the fight made an already difficult and painful day that much worse. Green also said she did not expect the photographs and evidence to be so graphic. Several times she had to excuse herself from the courthouse. She says security must be tighter throughout the trial because the last thing she wants is to lose another friend or family member to senseless violence.

Testimony continues tomorrow.
