State Police have ticketed the driver of a car that struck and killed an off-duty state trooper while riding a bike.  Trooper John Gorke was killed as he rode his bicycle on State Route 20 near Pompey Center Road on the morning of July 3rd.  This week, police ticketed Charles W. Brewer,  20 of Cohocton, NY for failure to reduce speed when approaching a hill crest and an intersection and failure to exercise due care to avoid colliding with a bicyclist. . The tickets are returnable in Pompey town Court November 10th,.
